The councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, held on Monday the filing of the magazine called "My Neighborhood" in the local office of the Association of Residents of Barrio de la Concepción.
The publication aims to inform the activities of the coordinator of the Barrio de la Concepción and be the nexus of local residents and entities within the community in this neighborhood.
The coordinator is designed to streamline the existing social fabric in the neighborhood and give a unified enable all through specific actions and activities.
For this reason and in support of the magazine is born 'Mi Barrio, "which act as a disseminator of the various activities taking place therein.
The Coordinator consists of the following associations and organizations: Neighborhood Association, Senior Club, Senior Federation, Association of Women Cultural Association of the District, and Cultural San Miguel 'Coto Dorda' Quitapellejos Youth Association, Tadumuni, Ecuadorians of Cartagena, Cartagena Ukrainian Health Center, Public School, Municipal Nursery School, AMPA Public School, Immaculate Conception Parish, Caritas Adult Education, Municipal Institute of Social Services and PROMOVE ACCEM.
For 2009, the Coordinator has proposed a large number of cultural activities, sports and entertainment which will be responsible for the different member associations.
For example, the cultural association 'San Miguel-Coto Dorda' has planned several activities in the street throughout the year as the floral offering to the Virgin of Charity on April 3, the Cruz de Mayo, Day 2 May, the feast of San Miguel Archangel, from 24 to 27 September or the representation of Living Nativity on 20 December.
In addition, the multi-purpose local Barrio de la Concepción be used by the Senior Club for healthy aging workshops, crafts, games, musical performances, cultural talks ...
while the cultural association of the neighborhood and the women's association also conducts drama, reading groups, laughter therapy, crafts and domestic violence.
The local neighborhood association and the sports will be other places that will host activities throughout the year.
Finally, the Coordinator has organized itself as the International Day of Working Women, 5 and 6 March, workshops Reading Development, Conservation, Environment, Human Rights and Immigration or the Intercultural Week I, the March 25.
