Only 227 families, many of the approximately thousand who have counted the City Council have applied to date the rebate in property tax for the year 2009, as reported by sources to the Department of Finance.

It will be recalled for this fiscal year the city of Cartagena has expanded the conditions for entitlement to a reduction in the tax-large families who reside in homes with assessed value less than the 70,000 euros, and must in any case apply themselves concerned.

Of these 227, 213 have already been accepted and 14 rejected.

The discounts vary depending on the category of households and their income level, special category for the bonus is 90%, the maximum allowed, while the number of general category families will be subsidized 30% of the tax: a bonus which be 60% if family income is less than six times the income indicator IPREM (this index is updated year-end, is about 6,000 euros).

In the latter case, applicants must prove their income through an income certificate.
