The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro received this morning to Manuel Riquelme y Francisco García Romero, Glaziers Association of Santa Lucia, accompanied by Councilman Decentralization and Neighborhood Relations, Nicolás Ángel Bernal.
The purpose of the meeting, requested by the association, has been to acknowledge the inclusion of the proposed construction of the Museum of Glass in St. Lucia in the Local Investment Plan, amounting to 509,472 euros, which will attempt to recover glazed tradition of the region of Cartagena.
During the reception the mayor has shown the photographs on glass that simulate the final look to be the Museum.
This is a building of about 600 square meters over two floors, which will rise in the former premises of the neighborhood association.
In this museum there will be a showroom and exhibitions and other workshop area where students can train in the craft of glass.
In addition, there will be a small annex building that will house some services, such as stores, toilets ...
As explained by the council, the next March 4 is the deadline for submission of tenders for this project, as the rest of those included in the Local Investment Plan must be completed before the end of the year.
However, within this project is six months.
