The Department of Sports City of Cartagena continues to bet heavily on the School Sports Programme which runs from September through May in our city.
If a few weeks ago the Cross School marked a new record for participation with 2,200 participating children, yesterday it was his turn to an activity that also saw an inscription that is growing with respect to previous editions, 'Playing the Athletics'.
The event was attended by 400 schoolchildren from 20 schools, with a total of 68 teams that competed in a range of activities related to athletics, which took place in the Central Pavilion of Sports.
The program was aimed at the youngest, Benjamin (99-00) and fingerlings (97-98) and the objective was to publicize the opening of athletics among schoolchildren.
To this end, schools selected 4 teams (one for each category and modality) and develop the following tests:
- Race 10x10 meters
- Jump side of a low obstacle
- Long jump from standing
- Ball Toss
- Soft Javelin Throw
- Relay Race
In all this activity is joined in the celebration last row of table tennis specific Regional Final of the sport, and confirmation by the General Directorate of Sports of the Autonomous Community of the organization of Regional Youth Final Basketball, Handball, Futsal and Volleyball the next April.
Lastly, remember that during the months of February, March and April all championship teams Local Phase School played Team Sports Inter-group encounters with the joint winners of La Union, San Pedro del Pinatar, Torre Pacheco, San Javier , Fuente Alamo and Los Alcazares.
