The council of La Palma recovered, once again, the atmosphere of Cartagena folklore of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century through the Café Cantante, an initiative born of the folk group City of Cartagena, La Palma, to raise funds for National Folk Festival and to conserve and bring the field of popular culture to all residents of Cartagena.
The events scheduled for this year will be held from February 28 to March 29, with scheduled performances and other surprises, as noted by the Councillor of Celebration, Florentina Garcia Vargas, who has taken the opportunity to invite all aps Cartagena for the House of Folklore, listening to wonderful music and enjoy traditional dishes that are cooked longer now, which is a luxury.
In presenting the Café Cantante programming this year also featured the president of Grupo Folklorico de La Palma, Pedro Gomez, who has noted the importance of the performances of this year, with pure flamenco, flamenco and folk rock, the latter represented by the figure of the singer Maria Salgado and his show 'Wine and Ron', which will be held on March 27, which combine traditional Spanish and Cuban music.
Café Cantante structure remains as in previous years, divided into three rooms: Fridays will be devoted to music, have a drink or chat with friends, Saturday, you can sample an extensive menu of dishes from rural while enjoying live music, and Sunday at noon, will offer dishes of traditional cuisine in the area of Cartagena, which Pedro Gomez has called lust.
On Sunday 29 March, the Café Cantante will close with the traditional Folk Show at the Civic Center, by the children's group "Santa Florentina" La Palma, Cartagena City group of the same council, and the group's Choir and Dances 'The Rosalito' Peńa orchard The Jar, head of Torres (Murcia).
