The councilman of Health, Nicolás Ángel Bernal, announced this morning during the plenary session of the Municipal Corporation, the Hospital Universitario del Rosell work as a second hospital after the implementation of the General Hospital of Cartagena and where it will locate a second emergency door, once run this General Hospital.
Bernal responded this way to two motions filed by the socialist municipal group on the health situation in the city, which claimed the existence of a second emergency door and the recruitment of a surgeon at Naval Hospital, and continuity in Hospital medical services once worked Rosell General Hospital.
Both motions have been rejected with the votes against the PP and PSOE votes for and Citizen Movement.
Nicolás Ángel Bernal also noted that at the end of this February for completion of works to expand the resuscitation room of the Naval Hospital, which will start the surgical activity.
By then, there will be a permanent surgeon in ordinary time and a team of guard service Rosell Hospital surgery to deal with possible emergencies.
The councilman pointed out that both hospitals, the Naval Rosell and operate like a hospital complex, with two emergency units: one in the Rosell, and another in the Navy, for Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology.
To this we must add the new pre-admission unit in Rosell, with 30 beds, an emergency department of Primary Care (PCES) for 24 hours, at Dolores and Medical Center Our Lady of Charity, plus 3 EMU's (Emergency Medical Units), based in Santa Lucia, Naval Hospital and La Manga.
