The Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena has organized for February 20 Senior Carnival, with a party to be held in City Hall Jiménez de la Espada from 16.30 hours and due to open expected to engage the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, along with the area councilor, Antonio Calderon.
This year, the focus of the festival is the film, so that all the groups involved represent a Spanish or foreign film.
Thus, eleven act and parade troupes entered the carnival queen candidates, followed by the traditional dance of Piñata and performance of the musical duo live.
The event will end with the election of the queen and ladies of old, and awards to the groups participants by the jury.
Already on February 21, the tireless major part in the parade of Cartagena, together with the carriage of the queen and her ladies.
Remember that during January and February have been developed carnival workshops in La Aljorra, Slum Virgen de la Caridad, Slum San Ginés, La Manga, Miranda, Marfagones Mills, St. Joseph the Worker, Santa Ana, Torreciega, Cuesta Blanca and La Palma.
These workshops are made costumes, accessories and tested dance and choreography, all to debut in the traditional celebration of Carnival.
