Pagan Martinez said the will of the Board of guilds to break the trend and make a woman, representing all Cartagena, proclaimed for the first time the processions.
Mako's older brother, Jose Miguel Mendez added that with this appointment we have tried to correspond in some way to support that in his fourteen years in office has always Pilar Barreiro processions.
For its part, the mayor has been very surprised and grateful for his appointment and has been advanced that this is a great responsibility to try to live up to its predecessors.
In his opening address will attempt to bring the vision of someone who sees the procession from the other side, pending the sky in case it rains and the responsibility for managing a team of people so that everyone in town is able and parades take place without setbacks.
The Easter proclamation of Cartagena and the appointment of Mayor Nazarene has taken place for about forty years.
The event takes place on Good Friday, coinciding with the main day of the city, the feast of the patron.
