The Department of Social Services, through the Municipal Institute of Social Services has developed a Resource Guide for the Care of Disabled and Chronically Ill in the District of Cartagena, with the collaboration of 27 organizations that include professionals, parents and volunteers who strive to improve the lives of sick or deprived.
The presentation of the guide have involved the councilor of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, and the director of the Municipal Institute of Social Services, Antonio Mula, and representatives of the associations involved, since the guide is the result of a joint.
Calderon has said the objectives of this document, which is a first step in a broader study, a tool that seeks to highlight the ongoing work of each of the partner associations, besides starting a work table contributing to the promotion of volunteerism and the integration of disabled and chronically ill in society on an equal footing.
The Department has published a first printing of 2,500 copies of the guide, available both in Social Services offices and headquarters of the associations involved, and it is possible to follow more guidelines editing depending on the needs as they arise.
