The City of Cartagena has incorporated this morning five new vehicles to its fleet, comprising some 200 units.
These additions join other previously performed during the last twelve months, getting the renewal of a one-eighth of all municipal vehicles.
In particular this morning, four vehicles have been built Fiat Panda, which was made available to municipal technical services, and a rocker IVECO truck 26 tons to be used for cleanup of land in the municipality.
These recent acquisitions have been a municipal investment of 100.00 euros.
Councilman Services and Public Safety, Enrique Pérez Abellán, highlighted the efforts being made by the City of Cartagena continually renew its fleet with the aim of providing more efficient services to citizens.
Among its objectives is that vehicles that make up the municipal fleet no longer than ten years of use.
Remember that the City Council also recently incorporated into its municipal fleet seven police vehicles, five of the SEAT Toledo and two Pryus Toyota, whose hybrid engine, half electric and half of fuel is less polluting than conventional ones.
Moreover, in recent months have acquired three small tonnage trucks (two in the service of Gardens and one for municipal brigades), a tow truck also for local brigades, six Seat Ibiza for municipal technical services, and two Vans Berlingo Citroen Jumpy and three of which also benefited the City crews.
In total, over the past year, have purchased 26 new vehicles have come to replace 30 vehicles and 10 years (some of them acquired during the tenure of Mayor Gines Huertas) and other four years (the police patrol car Local), but with 300,000 miles.
The investment in the 2008 budget for this purpose have hovered around the 450,000 euros.
