The General Plan receives about 4,500 written in the period of public exposure (30/01/2009)

Positive results for the high participation in the procedure being followed for the approval of the General Urban Plan, is highlighted by the Town Planning of the City of Cartagena, Joaquin Segado, the facts supporting data, such as 4458 pleadings have been filed during the three-month public exhibition period ended Jan. 26.

At this time, Segado held 52 meetings with over 100 different groups, there have been 45,000 hits to-face at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, PGMOU place to display, and there have been over 35,000 web entries in the General Plan consult the documentation.

Now the procedure continues with the examination and approval of claims, the application of sectoral reports and provisional approval of the Plan, which is expected to occur for the summer and in any event before the end of 2009, going after the commission urban planning information to proceed to final approval of the document that will lay the foundations of the urban layout of the city for the next 25 years.

The Town Planning believes that transparency is what is characterizing this process, since there have been only 15 claims out of time (less than 1 percent), demonstrating that the public was aware and informed of the time for document.

With regard to the subject of allegations, most of the writings, some 2,500, were about reforms in the Barrio de San Antón, an area which provides a new design for the streets, wider, green areas and change in the type of housing.

According to Joaquin Segado, the idea is to work according to the neighbors, so that closely examined the allegations and seek a solution that will please all.

Something similar happens with the Santa Lucia (180 letters) and Los Mateos (318 claims).

Also presented a number of arguments in defense of the Plan Natural Resources Management and the municipal government's position on the Coastal Act and its implementation, particularly in the area of La Azohía and The Chapineta (nearly 200 written).

In the latter, in response to a letter submitted by the PSOE, has described Segado 'ambiguous' position of the Socialists on the interpretation of the Coastal Act because it does not clarify whether they support the position of the council, which is considered as urban land (albeit de facto but not de jure) population centers that existed in 1988 with the entry into force of the law, or the Ministry of Environment, which argued that in non-urban areas of law must be put easements of 100 feet.

According to the Town Planning, in meetings with the Socialists have asked them to endorse the position of the City Council at the ministry, because, otherwise, hundreds of Cartagena will encounter the problem that your home is within the easement costs.
