The Councillor for Tourism, Javier Herrero, and Director of Municipal Services Institute of the Coast, Gabriel Ruiz, collected yesterday from the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Trade Miguel Sebastian, the Flags "Q" Quality Tourism who have gone to stop ten beaches of Cartagena and have become the municipality of Spain with more certifications of this kind.
The beaches of Cala Cortina, Minor Outlying Islands, Playa Honda, Mar de Cristal, Cala del Pino, Cavanna Beach, Playa del Barco Perdido, Galúa Beach, Playa de Levante and Playa de la Gola have managed to bring the city to the forefront national tourism quality.
The event, held at the Palacio de Congresos Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, was given a total of 72 Flags "Q" Quality Spanish beaches from 43 municipalities of the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Asturias, Baleares, Catalonia, Murcia and Valencia.
Flag "Q" of Quality granted by the Institute for Quality Tourism (ICTE), requires not only that hold water and sand beaches clean but to control the security services, rescue, entertainment, information, cleaning, control of the fair and the hygienic conditions of the beaches and facilities.
Since it began certifying beaches in the "Q" Quality in 2004, when there were a total of 13 at the end of that year, the number of flags has increased more than five, reaching 72 to delivered yesterday.
