The managing director of the Health Service of Murcia (SMS), José Manuel Allegue, accompanied by the director general of Health Care, Thomas Fernandez, and the director of the Hospital Santa María del Rosell, Manuel Ángel Moreno, today highlighted the growth in health care activity and the improvements made in recent years in the reference hospital Health Area II, which covers the region of Cartagena.
Allegue described his appearance as "an act of absolute support from the SMS to the work being done in Santa Maria del Rosell Hospital since 2005 when the management team was stopped after a crisis center for various services, and after publication these days of some news related to assistance provided by the hospital. The head of the SMS detailed the increases in activity that has led the hospital in the last four years (2005-2008), taking into account that the population of the area of Cartagena has happened in this period from 333,679 to 366,615 people, which has been a cumulative increase of 8.8 percent.
In this sense, Allegue explained that over the past four years "there has been an increase in overall activity in all areas of the hospital much higher."

The manager also came out to meet the demands of the opposition and some associations have called for an audit to ascertain the state of care at the hospital.
So Allegue stated that "the Health Service of Murcia, through management contracts which are reviewed annually, maintains a constant control of the welfare activities of the Hospital del Rosell, as well as all of the public.
Each year the center performed a memory that is studied thoroughly by the Directorate General of Health Care, and thus assesses the status of each of the services of the hospital. "
