Local police stopped in Cartagena last night five men inside a scrap yard located in La Palma, attended by officers of the detachment of Pozo Estrecho response to the call of the watchman of the company.
The police action was fast, as the officers were alert after the night before had attempted another assault on the same amenities found in the area of Los Salazares.
The watchman's warning came three local police cars, which surprised the company within the five detainees, two of them fleeing the room trying to jump the fence protecting the company.
The other three detainees were found hidden in the bushes and junk inside the enclosure.
Those arrested were two citizens of Spanish nationality, two Moroccan nationals and a fifth of Ukrainian nationality, aged between 20 and 30.
SPECIAL DEVICE
Since last December, the local police in Cartagena remains activated a special surveillance device that responds to demands by the constant theft neighborhood suffered in the Campo de Cartagena, as reported by Carlos Nieto, Director General of City Hall Security.
This device consists of an increase in police presence and public safety checks.
Nieto has ensured that this special operation will continue in response to the wave of thefts reported by the locals.
