A journey of 200 million years takes us through the fossils of the Region of Murcia, at the beginning of time.
Exposure is hidden rocks Secrets: fossils in the region of Murcia ', an exhibition that arrives next Thursday, January 22 from Murcia Municipal Archaeological Museum Enrique Escudero de Castro, and later will tour other towns in the region.
The exhibit immerses visitors in areas related to the history and research in paleontology, the formation and excavation of sites and restoration of fossils and their dating.
This is a very educational exhibit, to the knowledge of the paleontological heritage of the region.
It may cover different eras: Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Tertiary and Quaternary.
The sample is divided into four large blocks wrapped with audiovisual, beginning with an analysis of paleontological work and references to Francisco Canovas Cobeño, one of the first characters that drove paleontology in the region with the collection and study of fossils.
This exhibition not only aims to have greater knowledge of paleontology as a science that studies and interprets the history of the life on Earth through fossils, allowing to understand the current composition and distribution of living beings before human intervention but also understand that this heritage should be protected and preserved for future generations so they can appreciate and enjoy it.
The press screening will take place at 11 pm in the Municipal Archaeological Museum Enrique Escudero de Castro, and she will attend the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, and the Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón.
The exhibition will be in Cartagena until 26 February and can be visited from Tuesday to Friday from 10 to 14 hours, and 17 to 20 hours, and Sundays, 11 to 14 hours.
