Mayor Pilar Barreiro goes on Monday 19 January at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Municipal Services Rehabilitation and Speech Therapy Psychomotor, which since last September has been moved to the first floor of the old school from the edficio Carmen Conde La Milagrosa, where he has been located for fifteen years.
Also visit the Hall Occupational prevention of absenteeism and dropout, on the ground floor of this old school, and the Bank of Textbooks in the same facility.
With this move, have managed to more modern facilities with new technology tools and all necessary resources for the rehabilitation of language and psychomotor development of children.
The Municipal Services Rehabilitation started in the school year 1985-86, with the aim of improving educational quality in the municipality of Cartagena, through the detection of language difficulties and motor skills, and their rehabilitation.
In the two years following its launch expanded service to care for children with hearing impairments through an agreement with ananda and rural areas of the municipality, with the creation of a traveling team that has been operating in four heads area of the municipality: The Aljorra, Marfagones Molinos, El Algar and Pozo Estrecho.
Rehabilitation Service serves children of 1, 2 and 3 courses of the Second Cycle of Primary Education and 1 st and 2 nd Primary Education courses public and private schools, concluded the city of Cartagena.
In the current academic year, the Rehabilitation Services has served 534 people: 162 in the Rehabilitation Centre itself, 279 through the Itinerant Team, and 93 under an agreement with ananda.
Of this total, 67 people are on waiting lists for treatment, which means the importance and demand for this service.
Also, these 534 people, 304 showed speech problems, 144, psychomotor problems, and 86 psycho-needed support.
OCCUPATIONAL CLASS
In addition to the new headquarters of the Municipal Rehabilitation Service, the former Carmen Conde school also houses the Hall Occupational prevention and control of absenteeism and dropout rates of children under 14 and 15.
The group of pupils that will be fifteen Occupational Hall, and will be selected, initially, three Secondary Schools, which by its geographical location in greater demand this type of educational activities for some of his students: Mediterranean IES, IES and IES Politécnico Bastarreche Admiral, who is assigned administrative and teaching the classroom.
The Occupational Classroom teaching is due for the Professional Family of Building and Civil Construction, through which students can gain knowledge of construction to facilitate their access to vocational training or Initial Vocational Training Program.
The beginning of the teaching activities of the new Occupational Hall is scheduled for January 27.
Mayor's visit to this new facility will take place from 12 noon, in the old school Carmen Conde (Ribera de San Javier, 13).
