The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation has given to the swimmer cartagenera Margarita Dominguez Cabezas, NC Anchor, special medal for Sports Merit medal for his gold in the 25 kilometers in the European Championships held in Dubrovnik (Croatia) last September.
This is the first time an athlete cartagenera receive this distinction.
Note that this medal has been awarded, in turn, the Spanish Olympic team synchronized swimming, as well as Mirella Belmonte to get the gold medal and world record in 200 Styles (2008) and the Spanish National Waterpolo.
Margarita Dominguez, as well as European champion 25-kilometer open water, was awarded the title of best athlete Cartagena 2007.
Margarita Dominguez of Spain has been a champion in all categories of juvenile, infant and junior in the 400 and 800 meter dash.
It has been 42 times for different categories, won 28 medals in competitions in Spain and 6 medals in international competitions.
Last year was Absolute Champion of Spain at 1,500 meters and 10 km, but failed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Beijing.
