The flute of James Martin stars in the first subscription concert of the Symphony Orchestra in Cartagena Murcia (14/01/2009)

On Thursday 15 January, the Symphony Orchestra of Murcia celebrates the first concert of their cycle of Payment of Cartagena.

On this occasion, enjoy the music of Bedrich Smetana, one of the pioneering composers of Czech nationalism.

In his collection of symphonic poems My earth hear the most popular, The Moldau, a model for its descriptiveness, as it shows many scenes of the passage of this river for the Czech lands with a colorful folk-inspired special.

Then the flautist Jaime Martin Santander-Sinfonietta will perform the concerto, written expressly for him by Xavier Montsalvatge, who found inspiration in the true personality of the flute, linking artistic values the musical beauty of this work.

Bohuslav Martinu, finally,

hear the Fourth Symphony, first performed in Philadelphia and who achieved great popularity among American orchestras for their careful orchestration and classical language, which we enjoy in the first subscription concert of the Symphony which, on this occasion, will be led by Czech Stanislav VavĂżínek, one of the current directors with more international exposure.

Stanislav Vavrinek studied flute and Direction at the Conservatory in Brno As a student, he served for four years, the Wind Quintet of the aforementioned Conservatory, where he received invitations in 1989 and 1990 to participate in the International Youth Festival Bayreuth .

Later he continued his studies at the Prague Academy of Music, where he studied the Eli teachers š ka, Vajna and Stych.

He finished his apprenticeship with a master class taught by Roberto Benzi in Switzerland.

Following its successful participation with the Philharmonic Biel, was recommended by Roberto Benzi to be the guest conductor of the Durban Symphony Orchestra.

Between 1994 and 1998 was the chief conductor of the Prague Student Orchestra, where he received a large number of awards: First Prize (with category "Summa Cum Laude) in International Competition Nerplelt in 1995, and First Prize at the Radio Concerto Bohemia in 1995 and 1996.

In 1997, he was the overall winner in the same competition with his rendition of the Chamber Symphony Op 110, Sostakovich.

In addition, Stanislav Vavøínek has recorded several concerts of his tour to radio and television.

In 1998, the International Youth Orchestra played under his baton in the closing ceremony of the Festival Shizuoka Japan.

He was guest in more than 30 symphony and chamber orchestras including the Philharmonic Orchestra's Janáèek Ostrava, the Brno State Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic, Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonic in Gdansk.

He has participated on stage with renowned musicians such as Ivan Moravec, Eugene Indjic, Ivan Kusnjer, Václav Hudeèek, Dagmar Pecková and Pavel Š porcl.

Has been present at major international festivals such as Shizuoka, Brno and in the fall and spring festivals in Prague, among others.

He has recorded several CDs with music by Mozart, Haydn, Dvoøák, Tchaikovsky, Sternwald, Bartok and Shostakovich.

During this season, has been invited to work with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra of Bratislava.

Since September 2008 the chief conductor of the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra.
