The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Housing and Architecture, will invest 507,980 euros in the integral rehabilitation of the Santa Lucia de Cartagena.
The project includes the adaptation of 106 houses built in this area traditionally inhabited by the fishermen in the area of the Port of Cartagena.
The general director of Housing and Architecture, Nogueroles Marcos said that "thanks to this investment will rehabilitate the neighborhood next to a new area of expansion of the city, where they are building a large number of houses and the new hospital."
The works to be carried out include the implementation of rehabilitation works for the structural elements of buildings, improving accessibility, upgrading common areas and the adequacy of the living conditions of housing.
"In this way, will be enhanced both aesthetics and functionality of homes, which was a benefit for the residents of this area", said the director general.
