The Councillor for Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena, José Vicente Albaladejo, was pleased with the work of installing a large ramp to the Church of San Diego, which will overcome the architectural barriers that so far involved the steps of the facade of the building.
The work consists of a wooden ramp that bypasses the steps, complete with another mini-brick ramp that will allow wheelchair access through the front door of the church, so as to meet the objective of eliminating barriers architectural and facilitate mobility for all citizens, disabled or not.
This initiative is one of the fruits of the collaboration agreement signed between City Hall and ONCE INSERSO to facilitate the accessibility of public buildings under the European Feder Funds.
The specific budget for this work amounts to 58,642 euros.
