The City Council signed two agreements to put the headquarters of Sorrows and the training of police (30/12/2008)

The Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Agustín Guillén, has this morning signed several agreements in Murcia by the Ministry of the Presidency of the Autonomous Community brings a total of 395,700 euros to finance the opening of a local police station in Los Dolores and collaborate teaching courses in law enforcement.

The first of these agreements will serve for the refurbishment of the Castillito Dolores, unique building that was home to the Marquis Fuentesol dolls and whose gardens and exterior restoration already been discussed 6 years ago by a school workshop.

Through this agreement, the City will receive a grant from the Autonomous Region in the amount of 375,000 euros, which must be added the contribution of the City Council for these works, amounting to 20,861 euros, plus another 100,000 euros to be allocated to outer packaging building.

Thus, the budget of what equipment is only 500,000 euros round headquarters.

Agustín Guillén said that this project achieves two goals long sought: to make public use of a historic building located in a detachment Dolores specializes in the safety of that neighborhood and the northeast of the town.

The allocation of the detachment of 25 officers will serve in the entire northwest area of town and will be assigned to such work during the summer.

The Security council, Enrique Pérez Abellán, present at the signing, stated that the headquarters of Sorrows complete the deployment of local police in Cartagena that has been made in recent years.

In addition to achieving a large headquarters in the Security Park, we added the headquarters of Cabo de Palos which covered the area from the coast, another in El Algar to the east, one in Pozo Estrecho to the north and now this detachment of Dolores where there will be police officers assigned to security in the northwest of the town.

TRAINING

The second increase to 20,700 euros agreements grant from the Community to the local police for the delivery of training courses.

The Director General of Security, Carlos Nieto, stressed that aid strengthens the role of local police in Cartagena as a training of local police forces in the region and supports the decision of the municipal government to create a Security Academy in Cartagena with identity own to consolidate the tradition of training officers across the region and expand on the training of police, firefighters and members of Civil Protection of Cartagena in the areas of greatest interest in our town.
