The full City Council this afternoon adopted Cartagena unanimously the creation of the Foundation of the City of Cartagena.

As explained by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, it is a single entity in Spain, by its constitution and purpose, and which shall consist of the former mayors of the democratic era of the city and the current mayor, and will aim promote and enhance the city outside the Region in all areas and show the Cartagena as an example of democratic practice in which mayors from different parties who have been through the City Council to jointly participate in a series of initiatives to promote democracy in municipalities and knowledge of local administration.

The honorary president is the former head of the Royal Family, Sabino Fernández Campo, and civic groups will be represented through their spokesmen.

The mayor also singled out the foundation, where issues of interest will be proposed for the city regardless of political differences.

One of his first actions will be aimed at next year's celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of democratic local and Cartagena in which you want to be a case in point, with this foundation by providing a demonstration that beyond any political, is the interest of the city.
