The regional government has approved a special training plan, worth 1.9 million euros, to stimulate the creation of new jobs in the Repsol refinery and improve the response of active workers to labor market needs .
The main objective of this plan, promoted by the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, is to improve the skills of workers and increase their chances of entering the labor market, so that the supported actions must be proportionate to the needs of the tissue productive, and a special way with the needs of the petrochemical company to the Valley of tailings.
In the case of Repsol, including measures respond to the plan designed by the Regional Employment Service and Training (SEF) and Repsol YPF for the recruitment and training of skilled workers that the company will need in the coming months.
The aid, aimed at unions and business organizations, will cover the expenses of the beneficiary institutions to provide training courses, both for the unemployed to assume the tasks of building the new plant in Cartagena to the recycling of active workers.
This line of training activities are included within the contingency plan for economic revitalization and the Consolidation of Employment in the Region of Murcia, in efforts to promote social policies and strengthening the lines of employment and training .
Specialty training
The training activities related to the proposed expansion of the petrochemical plant tailings Valley training specialties include eleven: erector of scaffolding, tubero, editor of metal structures and equipment, metal welder, pipe welder for carbon steel, pipe welder stainless alloy steel, mechanical installation assistant, safety in the petrochemical and petroleum refining, electrical connections, instrumentalist, and assistant electrical installation and instrumentation.
All these specialties are associated with ten-hour training in occupational risk prevention in the petrochemical industry.
Students are referred by the Employment Service and Training and will receive a certificate at the end of the training period.
In addition, the agency will evaluate the quality of each of the actions provided by the beneficiary institutions, through surveys of students and technical evaluation by the service itself.
