The councilor for the Social Care, Antonio Calderon, representing the Municipal Institute of Social Services City of Cartagena, has provided the representative of the Gypsy Forum Association the amount of 14,660 euros by the signing of a cooperation agreement for the grant 2008.
This agreement arises from the collaboration between the Municipal Social Services and nonprofit institutions in the municipality, in order to support social action programs of Roma.
The Association has several programs Gitano Forum workshops, courses and activities for the Roma population.
Among its aims aims to develop actions aimed at social and cultural integration of Roma in our municipality.
The Municipal Institute of Social Services, for its part, aims at achieving social welfare, understanding and supportive progressive improvement of the quality of life, joining a firm policy on reducing inequalities, introduction of social facilities community reconstruction, and increased performance capacity of the population through natural and territorial institutions.
By this agreement the IMSS intends to help fund the expenses for conducting social activities for the care and promotion of Roma.
