See if I love you is, above all, the story of a love that lasts 26 years to transform their characters.

It is also a story in which cultures and social classes contrast during a time when Spain lost the last of its colonies and it became a different country.

From the beginning, the novel engages the reader who remains in suspense pending the multiple stories with different voices and styles, alternating two beautiful tragedies.

Leante intended, with this book, claiming the story of the Saharawi people, a town close by their culture and tradition, yet so distant by the great ignorance about it among the Spanish.

This is one of the most gratifying job for a writer to bear witness to a part of history that is still alive and it is this mixture of fiction and reality can serve to engage readers, also the youngest.

To Leante, Mandarache Award embodies pure literature: the reader, the writer and his work.

The important thing is contact with readers, who are ultimately to be written, said Leante.

Leante Luis has already completed his next novel, 'The Red Moon', a story that takes place between Turkey, Spain and Germany and although deals with writers and literary lives, has one thing in common with See if I love you: the crossroads between cultures and integration.
