The City Commission approved the text Addictions, still in draft, the document Municipal Action Plan Drug Addiction for 2008-2012.
The Commission met yesterday in the hall of the Youth Resource Centre, chaired by Councillor Social Care, Antonio Calderon.
This Committee was attended by Regional Drug Coordinator, representatives of the Department of Sports, Education, Social Care, Women, Interior, Youth and Employment, political groups, of the Armed Forces Health Service of Murcia; Center Drug Addiction Care, Federation of Neighborhood Associations 'Fernando Garrido' associations and the Council of Youth, Family Action, Anti-AIDS Committee, APAD, La Huertecica, Caritas and Red Cross.
The week before the meetings took place with the working of Prevention and Care, composed of experts from the departments and groups listed above, meetings are always prior to the Commission.
The approved document has been discussed previously discussed by technical working groups and it identifies the regulatory framework and criteria for action on prevention and treatment of drug addicts in the municipality and the objectives, resources and activities that develop the Municipal Plan for the coming years, with particular emphasis on prevention of drug addiction.
The text submitted was approved unanimously by the City Commission of Drug Addiction.
Then, this paper will propose to the Local Government Board for final approval at Full Council.
