The information committee of Finance and Home Affairs has cleared the proposal for the creation of two committees, one political and one technical, who will outline the Cartagena official candidacy to host the Mediterranean Games XVIII in 2017, as announced a few days ago the Councillor for Sports, Alonso Gómez López.
The ruling has had the votes for the Popular Party and the abstention of the Socialist Group, which has asked for time to study the proposal further, before the plenary session on Monday that it will be discussed.
The Political Committee will be chaired by the Mayor Pilar Barreiro, and it will represent all local political groups and the Autonomous Community, together with other municipalities in the region, agencies, entities and associations.
Its composition will initially closed nature, contemplating incremental changes to provide greater social participation.
For its part, the technical committee, under the previous, will have a technical and professional, where persons of recognized standing and experience in the sport to analyze and prepare the dossier of the candidacy.
The Mediterranean Games are considered second in importance after the Olympics, and its benefits spread both at headquarters and organizational infrastructure are evident, as happened in the games held in Almeria-2005, which brought to 6,000 athletes , judges and arbitrators in 27 disciplines, and mobilized 10,000 volunteers, sponsored by 30 companies and public and private entities.

The work of these two committees will end with the presentation of the official nomination of the City of Cartagena for the organization of the XVIII edition of the Mediterranean Games, formalizing the same to the Spanish Olympic Committee, so that in conjunction with the Sports Council give its approval for final submission to the International Committee of Mediterranean Games, in terms that once established.
REGULATION OF SCHOOL CHILDREN TO STUDY BEST
The other issue that has addressed this morning the Finance Committee was the proposed new regulations for the municipal nursery school and has been retired for a better study by the technical services of the Town Hall.
