On Saturday 22 November concluded with performances by Diane Schuur Bugge Wesseltoft and the 28th edition of the Cartagena Jazz Festival.
A year where the public has broken the provisions of the organization as it has come closer than six thousand people at Nuevo Teatro Circo, home of the festival, being therefore, the issue that most spectators have attended.
And five of the eight nights hung the poster are no entries.
Matthew Herbert and Danilo Perez, and Jose James Omara Portuondo, Lizz Wright and Incognito, Bebo and Chucho Valdes, Joe Bonamassa Perico Sambeat and were the nights where the speaker's role.
The revelation of the festival was Jose James, who just released their album in Spain, and will undoubtedly be a few years a major figure in jazz musicians circuits.
The audience was also amaze with the power still radiates Omara Portuondo, which gave the most heartfelt ovation of the festival, but the artist who aroused interest from the public and the media was Lizz Wright.
The festival, as is customary, had very good response in the national media with appearances on Telecinco, on the news of the 1 st of TVE, in newspapers like El Pais, El Mundo, La Razón, ABC and PR cultural magazines as Babelia o Cultural and radio spots to major national chains such as Ser, which devoted a large space in Hour 25 Angels Barceló, Onda Cero, or I give you my word of Isabel Gemio.
Special mention to Radio 3, which still backs the Cartagena Jazz Festival, giving knowledge of programming in various public television programs, and bringing to public concerts and Omara Portuondo, Jose James, which were recorded at the festival for later broadcast nationally.
Next year marks the 29 th edition, and as is still common, the festival will be an open space sounds, where heterodoxy and orthodoxy of jazz will come together.
