The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, visit on Monday November 24 the works to expand the wastewater treatment plant Beaza Cabezo.
It is building a mill pond, about 10,000 cubic meters of capacity and ability to collect waste water even in rainy periods.
The work is sponsored by the Directorate General of Water from the region and has a budget of 3.7 million euros.
Beaza Cabezo WWTP is collecting most of the sewage of the Municipality of Cartagena.
The new tank will collect all water, including rainwater, and constantly sent to the WWTP, regulating the flow rate variations.
This will lead to improved treatment, because they get to keep a constant flow and avoid excess contributions on time.
For the execution of the work the council has made available the land necessary Autonomous Region and is committed to recepcionar works, once completed.
The visit will take place at 11 hours, access to sewage Torreciega the road to La Aparecida, at its intersection with the highway from Murcia to Cartagena.
