The municipal service bicycle hire Bicity beat last October's figure of 7,000 registered users, from walking to cast the September 18, 2006.
In particular, the number of registered users who currently has pioneered this service in the Region of Murcia is 7,088, increasing at a rate of about 100 new records monthly.
During this same period, there have been a total of 33,303 loans of bicycles, with the Youth Resource Center more point that has managed operations.
The majority of service users are active workers and students living in the city of Cartagena and more than 30 years of age.
The service also has users from all five continents and 69 different nationalities.
Most users who access the service once Bicity coming back, and that nearly half of those registered have used the bike between 2 and 10 times.
The average distance traveled by users in each loan is 5 kilometers, which makes a total of 166,515 kilometers.
If this distance had been traveled in a motor vehicle, would have meant the release into the atmosphere of more than 35 tons of CO2.
