The regional government today welcomed the release of the fishing vessel 'City of Cartagena', belonging to the Fishermen in the port city, which was held yesterday by the authorities of Malta.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Water, in collaboration with the City of Cartagena, has been in constant contact with the General Secretariat of the Sea Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, which has the competence in this area, in order to expedite the procedures necessary for the country's fisheries output Maltese and continue fishing.
The director general of Livestock and Fisheries, Adolfo Falagas, said today after learning that this situation "is resolved satisfactorily and expeditiously," adding that "the eleven detained fishermen have been well treated at all times by the Maltese authorities" .
After the talks since yesterday with skipper, Antonio Hernandez, the director general said that "the fishing vessel, bound for Sicily, unknown fishing limits under the law of the country, other than the Community rules."
