La Fundación Teatro Romano de Cartagena, chaired by the regional chief executive, Ramon Luis Valcarcel, receive more than 360,000 euros in support of the company Saras Energy for the design and dissemination of the Museo del Teatro Romano.
The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, signed today in the permanent exhibits of the Museo del Teatro Romano de Cartagena, an agreement with the general director of the energy company Saras Energia SA, Massimo Moratti, to renew its contribution to the Fundación Teatro Romano de Cartagena.
Thus, the Italian multinational, closely linked to Cartagena for its investment in the Valley of tailings, and contributed to its cultural diffusion of the Roman Theatre.
The Roman Theatre in Cartagena Foundation plan to move next year in research and dissemination of archaeological work for the recovery of the Theatre.
We propose the holding of congresses, conferences and courses for specialists who contribute to the dissemination of cultural heritage.
The Autonomous Community, Cajamurcia and the city of Cartagena are the trustees of the Foundation of the Roman Theatre, but have enjoyed the cooperation of the company transalpina to assist in financing the project.
Saras Energía in 2004 signed a first agreement of cooperation, which now is renewed to maintain its link with the history of the city of Cartagena, through its most important cultural project, the Roman Theatre Museum.
With this agreement, the Foundation is committed to spreading the name of the company as a partner in its official documents and disclosure.
The Roman Theatre Foundation, through the Museum, will also perform important temporary exhibitions to help not only the projection of the museum and its surroundings, but the history of the city and the region of Murcia.
Another objective is to spread education through workshops with students, thus opening the museum doors to pupils in the municipality.
The Roman Theatre receives over 60,000 visitors since its opening
The Roman Theatre in Cartagena and Museum has been the most visited archaeological site in the region, since its inauguration on 11 July.
From this date until October 31 visited the Museum and the Teatro Romano de Cartagena 62,153 people.
Most Spanish visitors from outside the region come from Catalonia, Valencia, Alicante, Almeria and Madrid.
In addition, 40 percent of the total are from different European countries, mostly French, English, Portuguese, German and Italian.
