Cartagena Local Police today held the feast of its patron, San Leandro, why have conducted a mass in his honor in the church San Fulgencio which was chaired by Mayor Pilar Barreiro and which was attended by leading authorities police, members of the municipal corporation, associations and organizations in the city.
Later, they continued with an emotional awards ceremony for which was held at the Cultural Center Luzzy Ramón Alonso.
In this act, have been honored six local police officers by agreement of the Local Government Board for having conducted significant activities in the security of citizens.
Specifically, Jose Murcia and Salvador Ros received a distinction for the capture of a person who had entered into a warehouse in the neighborhood Latin America, in February this year, frustrating the way an alleged theft.
Also received Rogelio Zamora and Miguel Angel Lopez, to rescue a driver and his two young children when the vehicle they were riding was swept away by a flood in the channel of the Rambla de Benipila, in October 2007.
Finally, Juan Antonio Robles and Pedro Juan Tonda received a distinction to free a woman from a kidnapping attempt, when both were out of service, to intercept the kidnappers, despite being aware that they were carrying firearms.
Additionally, this same act has been a reminder for those policemen who, being active, recently deceased.
This is the case of Pedro Pérez, María José Rebollo, and Eusebio Segura.
Finally, it has delivered four plates of memory to as many members of the local police retirees this year.
It comes out and the agents Ángel Félix Herrera Soto, Gabriel Cervantes and Max Liron.
The winners in domestic shooting championships have also received the prize in this event.
To end the acts in honor of San Leandro, attendees have moved to the premises of the Dama de Oro, where they enjoyed a wine of honor.
