Local Development Agency and Employment (ALDE) will perform, along with the Municipal Institute of Social Services (IMSS) in collaboration with the Fundación La Caixa, the social project "Convigual - coexist in equality ', in which immigrant women work with 30 itineraries designed individualized training and employment for a year to achieve full integration into the social and working world.
Councilman Job, Javier Herrero, explained that the project will commence during the month of November this year and end on November 31, 2009.
La Fundación La Caixa works financially in the project with 24,000 euros, which together with the contribution of the Agency of Local Development and Municipal Employment and Social Services Institute, a total of 68,000 euros to implement the project.
The project aims to offer an alternative job placement Cartagena immigrant women by developing actions for guidance, training and business practices through individualized itineraries for training and job placement.
It will conduct two phases of six months duration each, where they designed itineraries for 15 immigrant women in each of the phases.
These routes consist of a training through a course in geriatric care for dependent older with 220 hours; an individualized tutoring throughout the project; practices in nursing homes of 120 hours, and additional training of 9 hours in gender equality, combating discrimination and computing.
The deadline for applications to participate in the project will be open until November 25, and training activities begin on December 9 at the headquarters of the Federation of Neighbourhood Associations of Cartagena.
Throughout the project the beneficiaries will receive a scholarship of EUR 6 per day of attendance to encourage their support to it.
The Municipal Institute of Social Services, meanwhile, will be responsible for selecting participants in this project, through its Office of Immigration, and monitor actions, explained Councillor Social Care, Antonio Calderon.
The institution La Caixa has fifteen offices in the city of Cartagena, as well as others scattered throughout the region.
