The councilman of Youth, Javier Herrero, this morning a new edition of Correspondents Youth Program, for the fourth consecutive year, thanks to that seventeen youth from secondary schools and closer UPCT information compiled by the Informajoven and resources provided from the Youth Service to the places where young people and, moreover, seek the information from the activities organized by and for young people in the city.
Be enrolled in one of the IES of the municipality or the UPCT and have between 15 and 27 years are the only requirements to participate in this program during the presentation indicated the councilman of Youth, Javier Herrero.
The deadline for submitting applications is November 14 and must be signed in the Youth Resource Center or any of the SKIP in the municipality.
The figure of Youth Correspondent is key, since they are going to allow a direct connection between the place where is located the Youth Information Point and Informajoven in a double process of information flow: information approach Youth interest to young people and provide the information generated Informajoven young people themselves in different parts of our territory.
As explained by the councilman of Youth, earning a scholarship Correspondent commits them to play among others the following functions:
Managing an information board
Attend a Mobile Youth Information Point for two hours a week.
Going once a week at Youth Resource Centre to collect information.
Adequately disseminate the existence of point information between teachers and peers (location, schedule, features ...)
Informajoven request and refer the information on the activities generated in the environment of their college or university.
Support information campaigns and service activities of the Youth Council.
Attend coordination meetings and evaluation to be convened.
Refer to informajoven made inquiries from colleagues for their eventual resolution.
In turn, from the Informajoven are offered a training and equipment necessary to perform its task.
After completing the course, each Youth Correspondent is awarded a scholarship, collaboration of 500 euros.
Since its inception in 2005-2006, the Youth Correspondent program has evolved considerably, first with six scholarships, then ten and last year, with fifteen and by extending the invitation to the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
In addition, for the first time, the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education has promoted the existence of the figure of Youth Correspondent at the Institutes of Secondary Education at the University of Murcia subsidizing the program the municipalities of the Region with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants.
The Youth Institute has collaborated with the city of Cartagena giving the rights to use the image for the campaign to publicize the program presented here.
INFORMAJOVEN
The Network maintains an extensive Informajoven Territorial Decentralization consists Information Youth Information Points located in all 10 areas located in neighborhoods and youth councils and schools in the municipality to which regularly provides information collected and compiled by workers Centre.
Since the commissioning of the new municipal website on 25 January this year has received a total of 59,954 visits to these services.
