The future sports center will be located in the Public School Santa Florentina de La Palma has a design that will develop cultural facilities, in addition to its use as a multi-sports infrastructure.
The general director of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, along with the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, laid the foundation stone for the Sports Center of La Palma.

The budget for implementing the Sports Centre is 1,290,000 euros, of which the Autonomous Community has contributed 300,000 euros and the rest of the council.
The deadline for the completion of the work is eight months.
