Cartagena Port of Cultures has received the Silver Medal of the CSSA (Spanish Association of Friends of Castles) for their efforts in conservation, restoration and distribution of fortified Cartagena heritage since its founding in 2001.
The award also considers meritorious integration that has made these fortifications in the city's cultural life.
And what actions have been undertaken in each of different eras, from the Punic to the twentieth century.
The Medal presentation ceremony held at the Mansion Silk Murcia during a dinner held to mark the National Day of Castles 2008, event organized by the CSSA since 1955.
Also, for three days took place several activities which allowed participants to visit the different centers in the consortium of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.
El Fuerte de Navidad, the Castillo de la Concepcion, Panoramic Lift, the Punic Wall, the Roman Theatre and Museum are some of the fortifications that were visited.
