According to Albaladejo, was a team goal of being a part of improving quality and services of our beaches with more resources and means and what we have done through the creation of the Municipal Institute of Coastal and what we now recognize to Q for Quality.

Therefore we will continue to do so, improve the infrastructure of the coast of Cartagena to maintain and consolidate this recognition.

In this sense, the councilman noted that infrastructure is still pending and the beaches of the west of Cartagena, which include Isla Plana and La Azohía, who had not been included in the application of the Q for Quality because they did not meet all the requirements relating to services offered.

Now with the upcoming launch of the new treatment plant, the issue is resolved and can also work on getting badges for this part of the coastline, which is installed in the offices of the Municipal Institute.

For his part, Councillor for Tourism, Javier Herrero, also welcomed by distinguishing the municipality has received, noting that this recognition is an endorsement of the tourist offer of sun and beach we can offer and which complements the already established cultural and heritage tourism, and all this allows us to be present in all international fairs are held.

Being the first town in Spain the number of distinct Q Quality has the added value of Spanish provinces have competed with a tourism major and more consolidated, such as Alicante, three beaches with Q-Quality, Castellón-to-nine beaches, beaches Malaga with eight-or seven-Cadiz.

Remember that our tourism development is relatively recent, since, traditionally, Cartagena is known for being a city-wide strategic industrial and military, as well as agriculture.
