The regional deputy UI + Greens, José Antonio Pujante, said today that the request by the Port Authority of Cartagena to the route of the AVE include a connection to the future port of Gorguel is "a real nonsense," adding "Some are beginning to rave."
Pujante was also contrary to the construction of that port, scheduled for freight traffic, and recalled that the Regional Assembly will debate a motion tomorrow its parliamentary group which seeks the dismissal of the proposed implementation of the container dock Gorguel.
He argued that this work would "jeopardize the preservation of environmental values, scenic and tourist" area since it has "a high environmental impact, land and ocean, which would cause strong affection on environment and heritage incompatible with the recovery of Portman Bay. "
According Pujante, "even though the authorization for this claim megalomaniac and devastating for the central government, the Regional Assembly and the autonomous government must take a stand and work to avoid the irreversible consequences that would cause this macropuerto."
