Full press release of Cartegena UPyD:
The recently reported news about the deficit of 400 million euros in the Health Service of Murcia imply that health officials announced measures to try to alleviate this situation.
In UPyD are strong supporters of a strict control of all services paid for with public money, as we reflect on our electoral program.
In UPyD believe that we must be especially careful when, in times of economic crisis as we suffer now, began to emerge in the public sector deficit, which in some cases it may be related to the crisis itself, but others are due to problems management or labor or professional nature of the workers concerned, as in the present case of health care in Murcia.
Therefore, UPyD considered to avoid the impact this could have on the health service benefits to citizens.
There are aspects in health care can not be affected by budget cuts or rules to streamline spending, such as decreased hospitalization time for economic reasons, the increase in waiting lists or the slowdown in the diagnostic tests.
The direction of the Hospital del Rosell has asked his doctors to "cut costs without diminishing the quality of service."
Cartagena UPyD hopes the urgency in tackling the budget crisis of Health Murcia, in general, and Rosell Hospital in particular has no effect on the citizens of a severe form, and hopes that the health authorities of the Ministry of Health and Cartagena hospital management remain committed to not worsen the service to users.
