The World Bird Day, coordinated statewide by the Spanish Ornithological Society, aims to bring the world of birds and their habitats for the general public, in order that the interest in these animals encourages people to greater participation and support for environmental conservation.
It also seeks to highlight the threats facing birds and the conservation measures necessary for their survival, in addition to disseminating the work of NGOs in defense of nature.
This year, the World Bird Day aims to focus attention on the need to protect our planet's wetlands under the theme "Conservation of wetlands and water management" since these ecosystems are extremely important for conservation biodiversity, reporting numerous benefits to society.
Naturalists Association of Southeast uses this World Bird Day to call attention to the fragile state of conservation of its most wetlands in the Region of Murcia.
