The activities organized to mark the October 1, International Day of Older People, Social Care Area of the City of Cartagena, concluded yesterday afternoon with a tribute to ten ancient grandparents who reside in the municipality of Cartagena, in a ceremony held at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, which was presented by Council Calderón and José Antonio Vicente Albaladejo, also director of the Institute of Municipal Social Services, Antonio Mule, and other municipal officers.
The honorees at the event, attended by about three hundred people from the city's largest club, were: Andrés Sánchez Luengo, Margarita Sierra Carmona, Castellón Enriqueta Jimenez, Joan Sola Rosique Manuela Contreras and Conesa, 102, Maria Solano Aguirre, 101, and Bartolomé García Hernández, Pedro Sánchez García, María Martínez Vidal Vidal and Mercedes Garrido, for 100 years.
Within the act of homage to the centenarians of Cartagena, was a performance by musician Michael Alcantuz, piano and harp.
Theatre group also Aljorra Beauty staged the play the brothers Alvarez Quintero, Paper Walls.
The evening ended with a concert by the Rondalla de Isla Plana.
With this honor have completed a series of activities that have been held since last September 29, organized by the Program for Senior Social Care Area of the City of Cartagena.
