The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro has chaired this morning the official opening of the school in the municipality of Cartagena, this year, following its revolving nature, it has been held at the Beethoven school of Urbanization New Cartagena, characterized by its center efforts to integrate students with disabilities, especially hearing and chosen among the 84 preschools, primary and secondary schools in the municipality.
The Beethoven Center is also a pioneer in bilingual education and is receiving foreign students.
The ceremony was also attended by the Councillor for Culture and Education area, Rosario Montero, and Delegate Councillor of Education, Josefa Maroto, and other members of the municipal government and has benefited from the presence of a sign language interpreter.
Among the guests at the event have been the directors of other schools in the municipality, teachers, parents associations, neighborhood associations and contractors who carried out the renovation work in schools this summer.
The mayor thanked the work of the educational community in all schools, as well as municipal experts and companies in charge of executing the works, which have enabled the school year starts normally.
Cartagena City Council has invested a total of 12 million euros in the last four years at schools, conducting more than a thousand performances in infrastructure, conservation and maintenance of these centers, with support from the Ministry of Education.
In addition, one of the most important is the extension of education from 0 to 3 years to districts and county councils.
The opening of centers in the Aljorra, The Albujón, La Aparecida, La Puebla and Beaza Cabezo polygon, in addition to actions already contracted to build new headquarters in La Palma, Pit and Quarry-Strait will contribute to the trough, within a year, reaching the 1,600 school places.
