The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, have delivered this afternoon the subsidies that the Municipal Institute of Social Services grants to associations of social action of the municipality to develop projects in the area of social services in 2008.
This act hania been called 31 states that perform actions aimed at the most vulnerable sectors with which you work from the social services department, such as children, youth, women, seniors, people with disabilities, people in emergency situations , risk or social exclusion, people with chronic illnesses and / or degenerative diseases.
Among the actions agreed include among others, those aimed at preventing situations of risk, to increase the quality of life of beneficiaries, to provide space for leisure and recreation, promotion of voluntary work.
The number of projects funded is situated around 40.
The amount amounts to 309,861.44 euros, an increase over 2007 of 17.151.24 euros, 5.6% more.
This has been highlighted by the mayor and embodies the commitment of the government team to increase social aid in times of crisis, cutting from elsewhere.
On behalf of the associations of social action has involved the Red Cross vice president, Manuel Aniorte, which gave thanks for the aid.
