The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, this morning has sent a congratulatory telegram to Margarita Dominguez cartagenera swimmer Sunday was proclaimed champion of Europe of 25 km open water in Dubrovnik (Croatia).
Pilar Barreiro noted in his letter the pride of all Cartagena for this victory, which is the reward for effort and work of a good swimmer.
Margarita Dominguez, 21, spent 5 hours 38 minutes and 35 seconds to complete the 25 miles into the bay Croatian and, after a superb final 800 meters, surpassed the goal to veteran German Britta Kamraucorestein World Champion in 2007 in 25 seconds and in just over half a minute to Russian Anna Uvarova, which debuted at an international competition.

Margarita Dominguez of Spain has been a champion in all categories of juvenile, infant and junior in the 400 and 800 meter dash.
