The deputy mayor of Cartagena and Murcia, Pilar Barreiro, ask tomorrow Thursday, September 11, the Congress economic Vice President, Pedro Solbes, the announced cuts in funding councils.
The proposal submitted by the finance ministry to the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) provides a cut of 700 million euros in the participation of local councils in government revenue.
Municipal officials called for that share to grow by 7,000 million to end the choking situation that suffer from the "inappropriate powers", the public services provided by municipalities because the competent authorities not given.
Solbes's proposal has caused the reaction of municipal officials of every political and criticisms of the main opposition party, on whose behalf the morning talk Barreiro.
