IU Coordinator Cartagena, Victoria Rodriguez, said today that the PP council "does not understand, despite the years, the meaning of the concepts decentralization, participatory budgeting and citizen participation."
Rodriguez said in this sense that "there are many residents of neighborhoods and local councils who feel discriminated by the actions of the government team, led by Mayor Pilar Barreiro, repeating over and over again their needs without having obtained so far response. "
"The filter of the Neighborhood, lacking means of civic participation, means that the neighborhood associations are handcuffed when being able to manage the real demands of the residents of their neighborhoods," he added.
Rodriguez said he is awaiting the creation of green spaces in the downtown and neighborhoods, as well as the construction of a greenway in the area of former railway line, claimed by the neighbors Peral, and a belt Alumbres green to protect residents from pollution.
Also requested the provision of social facilities in Vistalegre, flat island, the asphalting of the district of Conception, the urban housing settlement in different parts of the city and neighborhoods, and the cleaning of parks and gardens, among others.
"The policy of the PP is worn and intended solely to break down the mechanisms for citizen participation, and assume no responsibility," he said.
