This weekend is held at the Mill Derribao the fifteenth edition of Spanish Song Festival, an event that every year manages to gather on one stage artists and high-level participants and has achieved national recognition in this genre.
In the first phase of this Festival, which will take place tomorrow starting at 22.30 hours in the Mill Derribao sports, attend a selection of thirteen participants from, among other things, Malaga, Sevilla, Huelva, Lorca and Puerto of Santa Maria.
Among them will be played in addition to the prestige of winning prizes ranging from $ 3,000 first prize up to 600 euros.
The final competition will be held on Saturday, at the same time and place.
The Festival also will feature the singers Juan de Juanes, on August 22, and Antonio Carrión, Miguel de Tena and Rubito Son, the latter two mining lamp at the Festival Internacional de Cante de las Minas de La Union, August 23.
But the kick-off of the Festival took place on Saturday 16 August, also at 22.30 hours, with an opening speech by the Councillor of Celebration, Florentina Garcia Vargas and an opening gala that included the presence of Paquita Torres, winner of the 2007 edition, plus comedian Gema Jiménez and Mawy.
The event has a budget of 43,000 euros, more than half of them provided by the Department of Celebrations of the City of Cartagena.
