Cartagena completes its offer with a new music festival, this time contemporary music, to be held on 14, 16 and August 17 at various venues throughout the city.
In Actu (the name of the festival) is the first and only initiative of its kind in the region.
Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, said this morning during the presentation ceremony, which this kind of music, much appreciated and recognized in other European countries, it is difficult to define, because it uses classical instruments with a different result than we used.
This festival is intended that the general public are approaching a new musical concept.
To this end, four concerts.
The first, on Thursday August 14 at the Casino de Cartagena at 21 pm will be offered by the Diotima String Quartet, consisting of two violins, a viola and a cello.
The second, on Saturday 16 August, Ars Musicandum Saxophone Quartet will perform at the hall of the Cultural Center Luzzy Ramón Alonso after 21 hours.
This training will, in concert with electroacoustic devices and provide pieces of musical styles ranging from romantic nationalism to the vanguard.
Finally, on Sunday 17 August there will be two concerts.
Sic String Orchestra will perform at the cultural center Ramón Alonso, starting at 20.30 hours, and percussion of CSMA, at the Town Hall Square, at 22.30 hours.
The festival director Marisa Acuña, said it was time to offer the city a new musical variety to add to those already there: ECOS, on nails or La Mar de Músicas.
All concerts are free, first-served basis.
