Two ships, aboard which traveled a total of 22 immigrants have been intercepted in the early hours of today by the Maritime Service of the Guardia Civil off the coast of Cartagena.
Shortly before last midnight, coastal monitoring services to the Civil Guard has activated in the region detected the possible presence of a small boat, which was located about 13 miles off the coast and was sailing towards it at a speed about five knots.
Moments later showed the presence of a second vessel near the former, so that a patrol of the Maritime Service Corps of that went to intercept them.
1'00 on today, the Civil Guard officers intercepted the first small boat and about twenty minutes after the second, when both were at a mile offshore, in front of Cala Reona (Cartagena).
In total the two boats carrying Algerians to 22 men in apparent good health.
After being trans-shipped to a coastguard vessel, were taken to the port of Cartagena, where they were made available to the National Police.
